Really nice airport if you consider that we are in an island!!! In fact it was renovated quite recently. You can find a small variety of shop, all you need for a quick bite, Pizza, Burger and even Starbucks. Inside it is modern and overall I had a pleasant experience. The queue at the security was super fast in both July and September when I visited Kos.
Kos is a beautiful place and the airport reflects that. The airport was clean, presented well and is very welcoming. Staff were courteous and friendly giving clear instructions. The airport has very clear signage in order to get about. Security checks was quick and the airport boast plenty of duty free. Second passport check required to get to gates 8 & 9 which located the UK flights. But the unusal thing was we had to board a bus to take us to the plane which sat in front of the gate and required a short walk. Bizarre, but maybe be it was down to safety.
